“I like to give my creations names. All the names have a sense of humor, which I think is quite quintessential to my label,” explains Henry Beguelin, creator of Henry cuir goods. Since 1985, the Henry cuir brand has become a staple at Barneys New York. Each hand-made product is manufactured using a special stitching technique called Saddle-stitching, a process normally used for making harnesses, in which each product is stitched using one needle after the other interchangeably. Another vital, yet playful, element of Henry cuir goods is the colorful hand-stitched embroidery found on many pieces. The result is strongly-made leather goods that display the warm characteristics of items manufactured by hand.
