With an acronymic name that stands for “visible panty line,” it’s no surprise that VPL is on a mission to turn underwear into outerwear. No not that kind of underwear. A far cry from skimpy lingerie, VPL is all about comfort,function and “mystery,” says VPL creative director Victoria Bartlett.

It all comes together in VPL’s Resort 2013 collection. Inspired by the summer Olympics, Bartlett created a line that blends athletic utilitarianism with futuristic glam.Tailored in VPL’s signature draped, flowing lines and neutral color blocks, the collection is embellished with fresh details that include netted knits and distressed sequin insets.
