A treat for mid-century and Bauhaus design lovers, Carl Auböck The Workshop by Clemens Kois, documents the crafts of The Werkstätte Carl Auböck. Originally a 19th bronze foundry, The Workshop was helmed at the turn of the century by Carl Auböck, an artisan who attended the Bauhaus in post-World War I Weimer Germany and went on to shape Austrian Modernism. Today the The Werkstätte Carl Auböck is still owned and run by the Auböck family. Documenting the legendary Workshop, this volume includes interviews with Carl Auböck IV, historical documents and hundreds of detailed photos of signature objects, selected from The Werkstätte archives.
